Yet another sunset on Sand Lake
I just cannot help taking and posting these beautiful sunsets when we are up at the lake. This is the most beautiful place on earth.

Well, he didn’t really say that, but behind those sunglasses…? Seriously, doesn’t he look sinister enough to have said that as I snapped this image?
Up at the lake again. This image was taken at the yearly Labor Day weekend craft fair just down the road from our cabin. Great place for people watching and lots of picture opportunities.
Another lake picture, but this time from late February when the lake was still frozen over. I love these long blue shadows stretching over the ice. While it was actually an unseasonably warm day for late February, the blue shadows still make for an overall cool, even cold feeling. They also echo the deep blue sky overhead. I think it’s amazing that the lake always is a reflection of the sky, no matter what the season of the year.
This image with the unreal (surrealistic) clouds reminded me of the 60’s hit by the Jefferson Airplane (not the Starship). It was taken with my iPhone 4 and had a bit of post processing in Aperture, then exported. I am continually amazed at the quality of the images that are produced every day by “non-pro” photo gear. I even have an entire book of stunning images taken with my iPhone while I was in the old city of San Juan, Puerto Rico back in May.
Back at work after spending a week of vacation at the cabin, so have not had much time to spending on photography. This image was taken while up at the lake for a week in mid-July. It was taken on a cloudy day and as I recall it was not only a cloudy day, but a pretty grey day as well, so much so that the only color around our end of the lake were our blue and orange kayaks lying on the dock. The day did brighten up and I was able to capture a stunning sunset to end the day on a high note.
