Dancing Boulder No. 1, Joshua Tree National Park
Looking forward to our trip to Palm Springs this year, which always includes at least one, if not two, treks out to Joshua Traa National Park. This trip used to be an almost annual event, but then COVID came along. The last time we were in Palm Springs and then took the short drive out to Joshua Tree was in early February of 2019 when this photo was taken.
Our trip that year was a bit on the strange side, at least from my experience over the past fifteen years of visiting the area. In 2019 we make the trip by car and the third day, as we drove across Arizona to Lake Havasu, was mostly done in the rain. When we arrived in Palm Springs the next day, there were many roads that were impassable due to the rainwater as it went through the normally dry washes. Up in Joshua Tree a few days later there was still snow on the ground in places. We expect it to be windy in Joshua Tree, but not cold with snow, but at least the sun was shining.
Here’s hoping for warm weather in Palm Springs (and Joshua Tree) and a respite from the bitter cold we’ve been having here in Minnesota.
